Books to Movies

I haven’t blog for a while. I’m still reading Unwind and hope to finish it this week. How’s everyone so far?

Ok, last Sunday, I got my hair dyed (I don’t know the color of my hair right now, but I’m liking it). While at the salon, I found some interesting news on the magazine. Guess there are really lots of books to be made into movies, the trend is rolling in…. 🙂

The Host: A NovelTHE HOST by Stephenie Meyer will be released on March 19, 2013! And the sweet girl of The Lovely Bones, Saoirse Ronan will be starring as Melanie Stryder. This is all good news for me. I like Soirse, and I think she’s great for the role.
The Host Summary (Released: May 6, 2008)

Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. Our world has been invaded by an unseen enemy. Humans become hosts for these invaders, their minds taken over while their bodies remain intact and continue their lives apparently unchanged. Most of humanity has succumbed.
When Melanie, one of the few remaining “wild” humans, is captured, she is certain it is her end. Wanderer, the invading “soul” who has been given Melanie’s body, was warned about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the glut of senses, the too-vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn’t expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.
Wanderer probes Melanie’s thoughts, hoping to discover the whereabouts of the remaining human resistance. Instead, Melanie fills Wanderer’s mind with visions of the man Melanie loves – Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body’s desires, Wanderer begins to yearn for a man she has been tasked with exposing. When outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off on a dangerous and uncertain search for the man they both love.

IncarceronINCARCERON by Catherine Fisher is set to release on 2013. Twilight Star Taylor Lautner is cast for the role of Finn, and Maria Juan Garcias for the role of Claudia. I haven’t seen the actress yet, she’s not even familiar, but I hope she fits well for the role.

Incarceron Summary (Released: February 23, 2010)

Incarceron — a futuristic prison, sealed from view, where the descendants of the original prisoners live in a dark world torn by rivalry and savagery. It is a terrifying mix of high technology — a living building which pervades the novel as an ever-watchful, ever-vengeful character, and a typical medieval torture chamber — chains, great halls, dungeons. A young prisoner, Finn, has haunting visions of an earlier life, and cannot believe he was born here and has always been here. In the outer world, Claudia, daughter of the Warden of Incarceron, is trapped in her own form of prison — a futuristic world constructed beautifully to look like a past era, an imminent marriage she dreads. She knows nothing of Incarceron, except that it exists. But there comes a moment when Finn, inside Incarceron, and Claudia, outside, simultaneously find a device — a crystal key, through which they can talk to each other. And so the plan for Finn’s escape is born …

Sapphique, the sequel to Incarceron was released on December 2010.
Have you read these books? Do you think Saoirse and Taylor are the best choice for the movies?

Incarceron is good but not great. But I will definitely see the movie. We still have to wait for 2013 though!

  3. Oh yeah, I wonder who they will have for that role. And Jeremy and Jeb 🙂 Is there any actors you would like to see in movie?

2013? Gosh, that's a long time lol. Understandable of course, since movies take time, but wow!
