Release Blitz: Fallen Crest Forever by Tijan

Wohoo! I can’t contain my excitement and yet I’m nervous to start this book. I can feel that it’s the beginning of new life for Mason and Sam and Logan and the rest of the casts. But sadly, for us readers, it’s the end. We all anticipated this book and now that it’s finally here, it’s really an overwhelming feeling for me. I can’t tell you how much I love and hate this feeling right now. I’m on the edge of something and I can’t figure it out exactly. I’m having mixed emotions right now and I am planning to read this book real nice and sloooooow… I just don’t want it to end…yet.

THIS IS IT! The FINAL BOOK in the Fallen Crest Series! I’m not sure about how I truly feel right now. I guess I can call it BITTERSWEET. It hasn’t been released yet but it feels like it is the end already. It is the last book, yet it also feels like it should only be the beginning.
I want more badly. I don’t think I can ever truly recover from this series. I loved all the books and I can’t wait for this one! Look at the gorgeous cover! I love the title as well! There won’t be a better title than this.
I am excited yet nervous to dive into this novel, but like the previous books, I know that Tijan will never let me down. There’s a reason why she’s a favorite of mine. NO matter what happens in the book, she always bring us home.

FALLEN FOURTH DOWN

BOOK FOUR

CHAPTER ONE

Logan loves me.

Tate’s words had been haunting me for three months. They could destroy everything. I already lost one family; I didn’t want to lose another. It would fuck everything up if my soul mate’s brother loved me. I thought about those words even now, sitting in bed as Mason slept next to me. As I watched him sleep, tears threatened to spill.

The fear, terror, paralyzing horror—you name it, I felt it—surged up in me again. Mason was leaving for college today. This was the day that would start my most challenging year ever.

Mason had become my rock, my soul, my way of living. Some say that I depended on him too much, but I didn’t give a damn. He and his brother, Logan, protected me when everyone had abandoned me. If Logan did love me, everything would be destroyed. The family unit we had would be gone. Jealousy and mistrust would take its place. I couldn’t shake the fear that Mason would follow through on a threat he said a year ago: No girl would come between him and his brother.

Well. Hello. Here I am.

He opened his eyes, and it was like he’d been awake the whole time. His green eyes looked right into me, like he always did, immediately alert and focused, and he reached over. Trailing a hand up my arm, he tugged the blanket down, then curved his hand around my waist. He pulled me down, and asked, “What’s wrong?”

He positioned me so I was laying on top of him, and I just savored being with him. Mason Kade was beautiful to look at and even more beautiful to touch. He was all muscle, so solid and powerful, all right beneath me. He was over six feet tall. Sculpted broad shoulders. His back was contoured, and his muscles tapered down to a trim waist, making him look like a perfect specimen. With black hair cut in a crew cut, chiseled cheekbones, a strong jaw, and a perpetual smirk that tugged at the corner of his mouth, he could’ve been a model. He wasn’t. Instead, he was the future star wide receiver for Cain University’s football team.

He’d been a god in Fallen Crest. He and Logan both were. I’d endured hell over the last year just because I was his girlfriend, but he was going to a Division One school. That meant his games would be televised nationally. ESPN coverage. Future NFL talks.

“Hey,” he murmured, his nose nuzzling my neck. His arms tightened their hold on me, pulling me tighter on top of him. “Talk to me.”

“You’re leaving. Enough said right there.”

“Sam.”

I shook my head. We’d been inseparable over the summer. I wasn’t sure if it was on either side, or more from me. I should tell him my fear, what Tate said to me, but I couldn’t. Couples are supposed to tell each other the bad stuff, even if it might hurt. I knew Mason would want me to tell him, but my vocal cords shut down. I couldn’t say a word.

I wanted it to go away. Logan didn’t actually love me. It was all a lie or a horrible joke.

“Hey,” he murmured again, catching my chin and turning me so I was looking right into his gaze. “Tell me what’s going on? I know something’s up. You’ve been off all summer, running more than usual.” He paused. “What is it?”

Tell him. Just tell him, let the chips fall how they’re supposed to. Then his voice came back in my head, “I’m not going to let anyone get in between my brother and me.”

I couldn’t say anything. I was a coward.

“Sam?” He cupped the side of my face, and his thumb brushed a tear aside. “Everything will be fine. We’re going to talk every night. Eleven at night, every night. It’s set in stone for me, no matter what. And you’re in a good place. David was a fuck up before, but he’s coming around. He’s trying to be a good father to you, and you have Malinda; she’s awesome. Analise is still in that treatment center. My dad said she’s going to be there for a long time. Logan’s across the road. There’s no Kate. No one will mess with you this year, and if they do, just tell Logan. He’ll deal with them. You and I are good. There’s nothing to worry about. I love you.” He sat up. As he did, he held me in the air, holding me in place, and he rested against the headboard. I was placed back down, straddling him. Feeling the strength of his muscles underneath me, a rush of adrenalin went through me.

My hand fell to his waist, lingered there, and he trembled under my touch. That was me. That power over him, was all me. He was mine. So many wanted him, but he was all mine. I let that filter in. That gave me reassurance. That made me feel like I was on top of the world, having him love me so much. When I thought about that and felt Mason’s love, Tate’s words were shoved to the back of my mind.

What she said didn’t matter. It couldn’t.

“Assholes, get up!” Logan’s voice came from the hallway, and he pounded a fist on Mason’s door. “He’s not just yours today, Sam. You have to share. He’s my brother, and he’s leaving me too.” He pounded again on the door. “This is your thirty minute notice. You have a half hour to do your deed, ride him hard, and then get dressed. I want my time with him.”

Mason’s chest moved as a laugh came from him. His hands went to my legs, and he pressed them down, moving me so I was grinding on him, and he said back, “You want to ride me?”

There was a brief pause before Logan’s response. “Only if Sam isn’t getting the job done. I’ll pull on my brother shorts and make you feel all girly and pleasured.”

I rolled my eyes.

Mason called back, “Go suit up.”

Logan groaned, and his voice muffled through the door. “How did this conversation take this turn? This is very weird.”

I shook my head and yelled back, “They always do with you. You’re the common denominator.”

Logan laughed. “Denominator. Don’t you mean dominator? Come to think of it, take your time. Where’s Kris? I feel like finding my own dominator. I like being submissive. It makes me feel special and precious all at the same time.” As he kept talking, his voice faded when he walked down the hallway. Then he called back, from further down, “Be done in two hours, Sam! I call dibs with my brother after that.”

Mason chuckled, and the sound of it acted like a caress, rushing through me and making my insides curl. He cupped the back of my head, anchoring me as he looked into my eyes again. “Everything will be fine. I promise.”

I wanted to believe him. “I know.” But I didn’t. I should tell him, but I couldn’t. Not yet. It would come out, though, and that was the day my world would be threatened. I closed my eyes again and let my head fall forward so it was resting softly against his. Moving to kiss me gently, he whispered, “I love you, Samantha.”

“I love you, Mason.” I would relish this moment with him, go with him to help him move into his room, and I’d come back to start my senior year. It’d be me and Logan in Fallen Crest.

I’d have to figure everything out later, one day at a time. With that final decision made, I moved to meet his lips with mine and applied pressure. He groaned, meeting my command for more, and it wasn’t long before he slid into me. As he did, I held onto him. I didn’t want to let him go.

Review: Fallen Crest Home (Fallen Crest #6) by Tijan

“THIS IS WORTH THE PAIN,” HE SAID. -Fallen Crest Home

“Be normal! Be boring even! At least you’ll be alive then!” -Fallen Crest Home

Fallen Crest Home (Fallen Crest High, #6)Fallen Crest Home by Tijan

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I want to say tons of things about this book because there are tons of things about this book that made me feel all tons of emotions in a short period of time. It pains me when I think about Fallen Crest’s last book because I don’t think I will ever be ready to say goodbye. Fallen Crest Series has been one of the top favorites of mine! I love the Kades too much I don’t think I can ever let go. I love this series for so many reasons and sometimes I question myself for loving this book too much. Too much that sometimes I think it’s unhealthy. FC is the most angsty book I ever read. I get chills every time I read any of the book in this series. No other book gave me chills like that–from page 1 up to the end, I was never at ease. Reading this book was like waiting for a bomb to explode. I love Mason and Sam. Nate, Mark, and I have to say that Logan and Matteo added super spice to the cuisine, but of course, Logan will always be the epic one. Wit and sarcasm has always been Logan’s forte and he sure know how to throw them and you’ll find yourself laughing even in the middle of a tense situation. Mason and Sam always give me the heartburn, Logan makes it easier to bear. The combination of these hardcore characters made this book so appealing to me, they kept me entertained. That’s one of the things I love about this series and one thing I admire about Tijan. She hasn’t let me down yet. The characters and their bonds, they are like no other. Tight. Real. Haven’t seen anything like it even in all the books I already came across with. And the ending. I kind of figured out that she’ll end it like that, but still, I was open-mouthed. I should’ve expected it… but WOW! 10 awesome stars!!! Give me the next book asap!

Haven’t started the book yet?

Fallen Crest will soon come to an end. Just one more book! If you haven’t started this series, I suggest that you start it as soon as you have time. I totally enjoyed this and I highly recommend the books especially if you’re a fan of angsty, sexy, heart-thumping books that are hard to put down. If you love badass characters and stories that are challenging to read–dysfunctional, dark, maybe twisted, sexy and full of angsts, this book will surely satisfy your cravings. Fallen Crest is YA/NA Contemporary Romance that revolves around the life of Samantha Strattan whose life was suddenly turned upside down when her mother decided to leave her father for another man. This man whom her mother fell in love with has two sons, Mason and Logan Kade, who hated her and whom she hated but eventually grown to love. Their bond is unbelievably strong and it never seize to amaze me how tight their relationships are. “You attack one. You attack all. That was our motto.”

You’ll also meet other badass characters–some were friends but the majority were enemies, you can’t be sure who to trust or who to watch out for. It is a roller coaster kind of feeling and you’ll surely enjoy every minute of it.

Here is the list of books in the series:

0.5 Mason
1- Fallen Crest High
2- Fallen Crest Family
3- Fallen Crest Public
4- Fallen Fourth Down
5- Fallen Crest University
5.5 Logan
6- Fallen Crest Home
7- Untitled (To be release on May 2017)

Fallen Crest have plenty of things that are opposite to what I believe in. The characters that I’ve grown to love and care about are the opposite of the kind of friends I have in my life. They did things that in normal life I wouldn’t even dare to do. When I first started reading Fallen Crest High, I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did. Sometimes I wonder what is it that really made me enjoy this series.

Francois Muriac once said, “If you would tell me the heart of a man, tell me not what he reads but what he rereads.” I have plenty of favorite books but I don’t reread them all. I only have a couple of titles that I enjoy rereading and Fallen Crest is one of these. Now, I don’t know what that says about my character or my “heart” because I don’t really wanna know. I’m pretty sure I couldn’t read this book without recoiling IF I were still in my High School years. Fallen Crest isn’t the sweet, romantic, cheesy kind of book that I used to read and enjoy back then. It was far from that kind of book actually. It is dark. It is dysfunctional. It is wild. Fallen Crest High is the first book that I read that made me question myself about things. It may be funny but it’s the truth. And as I continue to love this series, I began to open myself up to other kinds of books that I don’t usually read and aren’t actually in my comfort zone. I continue learning. I began to realize that when you read books, maybe they don’t really change you but they show you who you are. They open your eyes by making you question yourself, what you believe in, what you stand up for in life. They reveal something that existed on you. Whatever it is that made me fall in love with these books, I am thankful for it. The series may come to its end but its influence won’t. If there is one thing I will treasure most about this series is the sense of family, loyalty, and friendship. What they say is true. Family isn’t all about blood. They are the ones who were there with you at your lowest, the times when you had no one else. And when someone else betray you, they are the ones who got your back. They will always come for you no matter what.

PAPERBACK

Excerpt

I had no time to stop and think.
I had to fight.
I had to hurt.
I had to protect.
Feeling someone behind me, I let loose with the bat, a scream erupting from my throat. Someone caught the bat and wrapped an arm around my waist. I tried kicking out. He dodged my feet and said hurriedly in my ear, “Damn, Strattan. It’s me, Channing. Stop!”
Channing.
He was friendly.
Stop.
I sagged in his arms, looking for Mason. Where was he? He was circling a guy, still fighting.
I started forward, but Channing caught my arm. “Whoa. Chill.”
I growled as I yanked my hand free and started forward again, but Channing grabbed my arm once more.
He got in front of me, holding his other hand up. “Whoa, whoa, whoa. Look. He’s fine. We’re here. He’s got that. Look. Look, Sam.”
My senses began to calm. The black around my eyesight faded. I could see more normally, and the buzzing in my ears subsided. I gulped for breath, tasting salt and dust in my mouth.
Channing was right. Mason’s eyes were deadly, but alert, his mouth set in a flat line. His shoulders were tense, but he looked in control.

Review: One Day Soon by A. Meredith Walters

One Day Soon (One Day Soon, #1)One Day Soon by A. Meredith Walters

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Summary:

He found me in blood and tears.
I stayed with him through darkness and fire.

We loved each other in the moment between innocence and bitter truth.
We were the kids easily ignored, who grew into adults we hardly knew.

We weren’t meant to last forever. And we didn’t.

He ran away.
I tried to move on.

Yet I never stopped thinking about the boy who had fought to keep me alive in a world that would have swallowed me whole. He was the past that I buried, but never forgot.

Until the day I found him again, years after believing I had lost him forever.

And in cold, resentful eyes, I saw the heart of the man who had been everything when I had nothing at all. So I vowed to hold onto the second chance that was stolen from the children we had been.

Sometimes fate is ugly. Life can be twisted.
And who we are can be ruined by who we once were.

For two people who had survived so much, we would have to learn how to hold on before we were forced to let go.

Most lives can be narrowed down to significant moments. Mine was no different. I knew the event that had changed me.

Life isn’t all rainbows and unicorns. Sometimes life is like living in the mud and you feel like you’re sinking deeper and deeper into the pit. If you are looking for a happy, romantic kind of story, this book isn’t for you (at least not in the moment). Like I said, there are times when life is like living in the mud. One Day Soon is that kind of story.

This book left me heartbroken for days. There was a painful yet exciting feeling about not knowing whether the story will end happily or not, and that made my reading experience more thrilling and heartbreaking. When I started the book, I felt like my heart was breaking bit by bit, but it was painstakingly enjoyable. In the end, it was all worth it.

Without spoiling anything, I’m gonna tell you a little about this book.

One Day Soon is a Standalone New Adult Contemporary Romance about the sad and heartbreaking story of Imi and Yoss–two teenagers who met during the lowest season of their lives. Imogen or Imi is a runaway sixteen year old girl who was living with her neglectful mother before she decided to leave their home for good. Yossarian Frazier or Yoss is an eighteen year old homeless boy who instantly became Imi’s friend and protector. They became everything for each other as they tried to survive the life in the pit. Soon they began to dream that one day they will find a happy life together.

Sad and heartbreaking, raw and emotional. This book tore my heart into a thousand pieces and I don’t think I will ever put the pieces back again. My heart was a mess. It took everything in me not to sob and I guess that was a bad thing because until now I haven’t fully recovered. One Day Soon is definitely one of the most heartbreaking books I came across with and reading it was all worth it. It is one of the special books that I will always remember and the kind that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

***
Here was a boy barely holding himself together. He seemed as though he wanted to curl into himself. I wanted to shield him from everything horrible. Everything ugly.
Just as he had been trying to do for me.
Yossarian Frazier wasn’t an overly complicated person. He was smart. He was thoughtful. He was generous and kind. He was loyal to a fault.
And he was someone who had been forced to make choices that would shatter most people. I could see the fragments being chipped away little by little as he struggled to hold on.
Yet he still sat beside me, with concern on his face, wanting to know if I was all right. When it was obvious he wasn’t.

***

Even though it was painful to read most of the times, this book is an eye-opener to some of the ugly truths in life. Maybe not all happy stories have happy endings, but sometimes it’s the saddest parts that make up a beautiful story.

And the ending? Well, I’ll just say it’s beautiful and I am pleased with how the story ends. I’m not gonna tell if this book is a HEA (Happily Ever After) or not. I hope the readers experience the thrill of finding out for themselves.

***
Maybe after all these years, I was still just that girl standing up in the rain. Waiting for a boy who would never come.

Review: Mists of the Serengeti by Leylah Attar

Mists of the Serengeti by Leylah Attar
Published: January 31, 2017

Synopsis:

Once in Africa, I kissed a king…

“And just like that, in an old red barn at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, I discovered the elusive magic I had only ever glimpsed between the pages of great love stories. It fluttered around me like a newborn butterfly and settled in a corner of my heart. I held my breath, afraid to exhale for fear it would slip out, never to be found again.”

Jack Warden, a divorced coffee farmer in Tanzania, loses his only daughter. An ocean away, in the English countryside, Rodel Emerson loses her only sibling.

Two ordinary people, bound by a tragic afternoon, set out to achieve the extraordinary, as they make three stops to rescue three children across the vast plains of the Serengeti—children who are worth more dead than alive.

But even if they beat the odds, another challenge looms at the end of the line. Can they survive yet another loss—this time of a love that’s bound to slip through their fingers, like the mists that dissipate in the light of the sun?

“Sometimes you come across a rainbow story—one that spans your heart. You might not be able to grasp it or hold on to it, but you can never be sorry for the color and magic it brought.”

A blend of romance and women’s fiction, Mists of The Serengeti is inspired by true events and contains emotional triggers, including the death of a child. Not recommended for sensitive readers. Standalone, contemporary fiction.

I finished one of the best books I’ve ever read. Definitely a favorite of mine and my top 2017 read so far. So many emotions all at once. How it managed to make me feel everything I wanted to feel from a book was astonishing. It was heartbreaking, heart-pounding, sad and emotional, yet beautiful, fascinating, romantic and magical. It felt raw and real and the words go deep into your heart that you won’t have a choice but to endure the pain of the characters as you remember your own. For me, it was a thrilling and heartfelt journey where fear, pain, hope and love were my companions. This book was astounding! I am in-love with this book!

If you have a heart, read it. If you think you don’t have one, then read it. If you like romantic story, read this book. If you don’t believe in love, please read this book. If you want to feel something or anything, please read this book! I can’t recommend it enough. I think this book has something for every one of us. It will make your heart break into a thousand pieces and then it will mend your heart with a permanent ache and I don’t think you’ll be the same again. It was inspiring, uplifting, and it will move you. We may not like the same book, but in this case, I’m 99 percent sure that you won’t get disappointed.

If you would ask me where my heart is right now, I would say it’s in Africa with Jack and Rodel and with the other beautiful souls I met along the roads of East Africa.

Beautiful. I am astounded.

“WHERE DO STORIES come from? How do they form and flow and find their way into our world?” -Leylah Attar

For me it’s kind of magical– how the stories touch lives including mine. Something you just have to believe even when you don’t fully understand. What’s important is how these stories made you “feel”.

Synopsis:

From New York Times Bestselling Author, Penelope Douglas, comes the latest New Adult romance of love, hate, and everything in between…

“We were perfect together. Until we met.”

Misha

I can’t help but smile at the lyrics in her letter. She misses me.

In fifth grade, my teacher set us up with pen pals from a different school. Thinking I was a girl, with a name like Misha, the other teacher paired me up with her student, Ryen. My teacher, believing Ryen was a boy like me, agreed.

It didn’t take long for us to figure out the mistake. And in no time at all, we were arguing about everything. The best take-out pizza. Android vs. iPhone. Whether or not Eminem is the greatest rapper ever…

And that was the start. For the next seven years, it was us.

Her letters are always on black paper with silver writing. Sometimes there’s one a week or three in a day, but I need them. She’s the only one who keeps me on track, talks me down, and accepts everything I am.

We only had three rules. No social media, no phone numbers, no pictures. We had a good thing going. Why ruin it?

Until I run across a photo of a girl online. Name’s Ryen, loves Gallo’s pizza, and worships her iPhone. What are the chances?

F*ck it. I need to meet her.

I just don’t expect to hate what I find.

Ryen

He hasn’t written in three months. Something’s wrong. Did he die? Get arrested? Knowing Misha, neither would be a stretch.

Without him around, I’m going crazy. I need to know someone is listening. It’s my own fault. I should’ve gotten his phone number or picture or something.

He could be gone forever.

Or right under my nose, and I wouldn’t even know it.

*Punk 57 is a stand alone New Adult romance. It is suitable for ages 18+.

Summary:

“We were perfect together. Until we met.”

I should’ve gotten his number or picture or something.

He could be gone forever.

Or right under my nose, and I wouldn’t even know it.

“Close your eyes, there’s nothing to see out here.”

When I finished this book, I wanted to shout to the world what an amazing book Punk 57 is. Really, what did I just read? It was totally an intense experience and I loved every single moment of it. I couldn’t even wrap up the feelings I have for this book and it’s crazy… beautiful and crazy. You see, I still think about it all the time! It has my heart from the beginning up to the last page and I still cannot let go. I thought Bully will forever be my most favorite Pen Douglas’ book but I was wrong. I thought I fell hard for Bully, but it seems like I really haven’t hit the ground yet. Until Punk 57.

Ryen is not the typical heroine that we usually root for, and Misha isn’t the guy I thought he was. He is something else… something more. I fell in love with these characters and I didn’t even need a lot of convincing. Misha stole my heart and he held it. Held it and totally wrapped his hands around it. I dived blind and fast into this book and I was completely blown away (and I recommend that you do the same!). It’s far from what I thought I knew and expected, and nothing like I’ve read before. It was surprisingly a bit dark, edgy, and sexy to the point that it’s almost illegal. I loved the twist and turns of the story and those surprises along the way pushed me to sit straighter on the bed. I think I had thrown a few bad words in the wind as well (sh*t). It was very angsty and gritty that I wanted to punch the other characters’ faces from this book. I don’t want to say anything more than the necessary rambling because I don’t want to spoil the book for those who want to read it and enjoy it to the fullest. Just let me say that I loved this book so much! There are only two books so far that top my reads this year. Absolutely one of these is Punk 57. I don’t read fast… but this book was so hard to put down. If you read and enjoyed anything by Penelope Douglas, I bet you’ll gonna love this book as much or probably more than you love the other books. Yes, I think it’s dark… and it’s sexy and angsty.. more than that it is also sad and heartbreaking. But above all these, I think this book is powerful–it will touch people and most probably change a few hearts.

This book is marked as the Best Romance of the Month in Goodreads and it hasn’t even released yet. This has to mean something good and also one more reason to read it. I looove this book so hard, definitely 5 stars! I would give it a 10 if it’s allowed.

There are books that we read and we hold close to us, and there are books that do the opposite and hold us–those kind that helps us keep going and reminds us why we shouldn’t give up reading. Punk 57 is that kind of book for me… the kind that holds my heart.

“You kissed my hair while sticking me in the heart.
But your house will break before I fall apart.”
